So this past weekend we traveled to Dallas to see both of my sisters. My older siter, Amy, lives in Canada so we see her about every other year. We had a great time. Just not long enough. Daniel and Oliver (9) and Seth (almost 5) had a great time playing and getting to know each other. Of course Taylor couldn't get enough of Wyatt. We all had fun and had a few photo opportunities. Daniel left our hotel saying "Next time, I'm going to Canada!". It was quite cute.

HURRICANES GALORE!!!!!!!

It's amazing what you learn from life's experiences! Hurricane Katrina taught us well. She taught us the importance of being as prepared as much as possible by stocking up on food, water, gas and batteries. So, that being said, that is just what I did. Two weekends ago, we were told about Hurricane Fay. She was no big threat to us just some rain. But Gustav was a different story altogether. I was ready. I really was. But, nothing happend. NO, I am NOT complaing at all! The only thing we got was lots of rain and some wind. Nothing serious at all. I am very thankful for that! So now that we weren't in any danger, the only thing left to do was, well, to have fun. So I am posting some pictures of what the boys did in the wake of Gustav. The boys did what boys were born to do and that is to see just how dirty you can get. The only difference in the older boys than the younger ones, is that their "toys" now have motors. When mud riding in trucks doesn't get you dirty enough, go mud sledding behind a four wheeler. That will always do the trick!

The weekend before, Taylor and some of her friends had a closer view of Hurricane Fay. They went to Alabama for En Fuego. That is an entire day of Christian concerts. If you know anything at all about Taylor you know she loves her music and her bands! Some of her favorite groups were playing that day. They spent the entire day stainding in the rain only to have 2 of her favorite bands be cancelled because of the weather. I think she had a good time anyway. I have put some pictures of her and her friends, Brooks and Hannah up along with a picture of her and Thalon that was taken on our summer trip. This is one of the bands that was cancelled. Even though they didn't get to see them on Saturday, they did get to go to chruch with Thalon on Sunday.

With two more Tropical Systems predicted to head our way, I will once again be prepared. This time, I will need to plan for about 5 extra guys at my house, so that means, lots more food!

Well, let's see...

As summer winds down, when I take a look back it has been a short, but, busy one. We started the summer off going on a trip to Florida with about 70 of our youth from church. Then back to Florida for my nephew's wedding with my neice's wedding 2 weeks later. Oh, yeah, add in a trip to Dallas to see my new little nephew and his great big brother in between all of that.
Austin has had a job surveying this summer and Taylor has been making a killing by babysitting so we have all been busy. Austin will be a senior this year and it is so hard to believe that 1) I am that old and 2) HE is that old! Where does the time go ?!?!? I mean for real! It seems like yesterday he was three years old learning to ride his bike without the training wheels!
Taylor will be a Sophmore this year. Wasn't it just last week she was on her bed with all of her babies lined up reading to them? And last, but certainly not least, Daniel. It seems just like last year he was in kindergarten. Oh yeah, it was just last year! They are all growing up way too fast! Sometimes I just want to stop and freeze time and soak all of it in.
I guess Daniel will be the only one playing any kind of sports this year. Soccer? Maybe, but definately basketball. That is his all time favorite. Football at Florence stinks so I guess my Friday nights will be free this fall. As bad as I hate that, I hope to definately take advantage of the down time.

Ashley and Mark's Wedding (our 2nd wedding of the summer)

Here are a few pics taken at my neice's wedding. Taylor was a beautiful bridesmaid and Daniel quite a handsome ring bearer. It was a beautiful wedding and we were proud to be a part of it. Daniel woke up at 8:00 a.m. ready to put his tux on. He was sooo proud to wear it. He knew he was a cutie! For 7 hours he got to wear it! I mentioned this was my 2nd wedding of the summer, my nephew was married in Florida and I will get some pictures of that up as soon as I can. Now, to make me feel really old, the flower girls mom was the flower girl in my wedding!!!
